My belated Valentine's gift.....

My hubby and I don't typically celebrate Valentines. But since we have been so busy lately we thought it would be the perfect time to spend some much needed time together. So on Saturday we celebrated Valentine's Day our way. Which included antiquing in Old Town Tomball and then dinner at BJ's brewery. When we got home Aaron surprised me with my Valentine's Day gift that finally came in. It is two yards of custom made fabric from Spoonflower.
I had never heard of this before, he actually found it online. He designed the fabric himself with my little angel Abby on it. Little does he know that this has just opened my eyes to a whole new fabric world of custom fabric!
Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!
In Texas we had perfect weather which made for a beautiful weekend!

Snoopy Baby Shower

This weekend was my last weekend of events! I helped throw a baby shower for my cousin inlaw. She is having a little boy in March. The baby's room is decorated with Snoopy. The momma works at a vet clinic and loves animals so it's really fitting. So we decided why not have a Snoopy baby shower. So here are some photos:These are the favors that my mother in-law got on Etsy at Bubble City Soap. My mother in law also made this adorable basket for the mommy to be to use in the baby's room.
This is the beautiful quilt that one of the quests made for baby Tyler:

Gabi's Wedding

It turned out to be a lovely wedding weekend for the bride and groom. Sadly the weather (Arctic Blast of 2011) caused the rehearsal dinner to be canceled. But that's okay we still had a blast that night. The entire wedding party headed over to the bride and grooms house where we had barbecue in our cowboy boots. Then the girls headed to a cabin in the woods to spend the night while the guys stayed at the house. Us girls enjoyed cuddling around the fire and sharing stories from our early years! The wedding was beautiful and the bride looked absolutely amazing. I'm so honored that she allowed me to be a bridesmaid for her big day!

Adorable Baby boots

We are home from our small town fun. Before we left we made these adorable quilted baby boots. They where pretty easy and of course fun to make. I got this Curby's Closet pattern from Quilters Crossing.

We had problems finding Western fabrics but finally came across this little buckaroo flannel fabric at Hancocks. I did the pointy toe option but you could also do a round toe. I'm going to try to find blue jean fabric and bandana fabric and maybe try the round toe. I liked this pattern so much that I'm probably going to get the little girl Mary Jane pattern also.

When downloading the pictures off my camera I thought these ones where cute. The first one is Abby's mother Roo looking down on her babies and grandbaby "in jail." They where in the backyard playing while we where trimming nails so only three of them have made it into jail. These three jailbirds are Condi (Abby's sister), Abby, and Stitch (Abby's nephew).

The second one is Abby enjoying her couch sleeping time. She is not allowed on the couch at home so she spends as much time on it as she can when she goes for a visit to see her family.

And after a long day of running the field and playing with her family she was wore out!

Merry Christmas to me....

I wish I could say I got a sewing room for Christmas, but I didn't. We own a two bedroom condo and so we have to maximize space whenever possible. So instead for Christmas I asked for a sewing machine cabinet that I could use as a piece of furniture, storage for my sewing machine and as a sewing desk. So here is the Arrow sewing machine cabinet that my wonderful in-laws got me for Christmas:

I haven't had a chance to decorate with it yet but I'm thinking of adding a lamp to it. It'll be stylish when it's closed and useful while I'm sewing.

My very handy father-in-law spent many hours, headaches, and curse words putting it together but in the end it turned out exactly how I imagined. I love it, Thank you so much Kevin and Linda!
